"1 think people liked what 1 said about education at the all-candidates meetings, and 1 have the experi ence. "Every body knows who I am and about my volunteering. I've been on the board for the United Way o f Oakv ille and taught sign language classes at the library ... I've done a lot o f different things achieve our goals both for the tax payers and for the students. "I worked very hard to get re elected," he continued. "People listened to me. I finished by doorto-door campaigning on Sunday at 5 p.m.. and I think the results speak for themselves. A lot of people said I'll support you 100 per cent and they came through for me." New to the board representing Oakville is David Goch. who gar nered 2,990 votes, edging out Jonathan Banzuela for the third position. He had 2,569 votes. In a prepared statement. Goch said he is "elated" and thanked his supporters. "W hen you conduct a cam paign som etim es you feel tilings are going well, but you never know until the numbers com e in. Seeing the numbers instills confidence and I look for ward to serving on the board."
