Matwey also said she never counted on the many kindnesses from strangers. "There are so many good people out there. It's such an inspiration. I didn't know there were so many people root ing for me," said Matwey. Mostly Matwey does it for her son. "I gain my strength from him. I look at him and think `Look at all you have to deal with. I can walk and talk.
