It just happened, at around the same time, the General Manager of Kelsey's, which has its headquarters in Oakville, told Tymstra that he had been offered a franchise in Oakville. Not having the time, himself, the GM told Tymstra he should take the franchise, which he did. along with a partner who takes care of the day-to-day operations. Tymstra has done a similar thing with ASO, partnering up with some body and entrusting them to take care of the day-to-day stuff. That move was im portant for Tymstra. He didn't want to be one of those people who work 100 hours a week. Instead, in the busy winter sea son. he generally works 40-60 hours per week. "It's not bad, you've got to bal ance," he said, proud that he's found a way to do so. "Family's key right now. It's a high priority for us," which is another fine reason he takes the sum mer off. Tymstra and Brown have three young children and at three years old the twins are now at, according to Tymstra, a "ski-able" age. Though that may seem quite young to take up ski ing, he doesn't come across as a pushy father who will force his children to like his favourite sport, hockey. "It's going to be very interesting to me what they'll be interested in," he said. "T hey 're probably going to mould what w e'll be selling in the next 20 years." Tymstra and his wife also have an 18-month old - halfway to ski-able age - child. Though they're young now, Tymstra is looking forward to when his children will be working the sales floor at Corbett's. "We want to raise our family in Oakville, and hopefully they'll want to take over," he said. "Well, hopefully they're all doctors and don't have to go through all this." "Go through all this" doesn't mean that Tymstra doesn't enjoy his work. An athlete in his youth, Tymstra was Perdue High School's athlete of the year in 1979, he still tries to find time for athletic endeavours. He's always been interested in sports and Corbett's and ASO are extensions of that. "Every day's different," he said. "It keeps you youthful."
