The 64-year-old carrier, who is developmentally-challenged, is retiring after 20 years and will be delivering her last papers on Friday, Jan. 9. Longtime friend Tanja Loeb shared Brammar's story with the Beaver recently. "It's really special for Jane that she has what she calls a real job. This is a way for someone who has a developmental challenge to still feel like an important part of their community and to have something that's been a part of their life for a long, long time," said Loeb. "The most important thing for Jane has been... to have a job that was meaningful. She felt really valued." Brammar's rst job with the newspaper in 1995 was packaging yers in the warehouse. She was given a route later that year, delivering papers in downtown Oakville, just south of Navy Street and Lakeshore Road East. The route was a bit challenging for Brammar, Loeb explained. "There were hills and she doesn't really walk on hills very well. It was a big, big route and she was a little slower. But she kept with it until she could get a route on the street where she lives," said Loeb. It took the carrier a year to familiarize herself with the route and learn which houses received papers and which ones didn't, Loeb said. see Delivering on p.4 · HOME · AUTO · LIFE · BUSINESS · AV I AT I O N T H E M A G N E S G RO U P I N C . 1540 Cornwall Rd., Suite #100, Oakville, ON L6J 7W5 Tel: 905-845-9793 Fax: 905-845-9149 www.magnesgroup.com END INSURANCE CONFUSION.
