Oakville residents appointed to Mississauga Halton LHIN board The Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) recently appointed two new board members: Oakville residents Kimbalin Kelly and Gulzar Ladhani. The three-year appointments were announced by board of directors chair Graeme Goebelle. "The Mississauga Halton LHIN board skills and knowledge will be further deepened and broadened with the addition of these new members," said Goebelle. "Each of them brings a specific skill set and leadership style that will further support the board as we ensure access to high quality, safe healthcare services in our community." Kelly is the director of member programs and operations at the Ontario Chiropractic Association, which represents more than 3,400 Ontario chiropractors. A graduate of York University, she has a bachelor's degree in Economics and experience in leading organizations through cultural change. Ladhani has been on the board of directors for the Oakville Children's Choir since 2011, and has served on the Aga Khan Conciliation and Arbitration Board for Ontario. For more than 15 years, she was a speaker at the Alzheimer Information Series for the Halton Victorian Order of Nurses, and is a recipient of the 2014 Ontario Volunteer Service Award. She lives in Oakville with her husband Mahebub, and their three children. Each member of the LHIN board is appointed by an order-in-council -- the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care's selection and appointment process -- and is appointed for a term between one to three years, and subject to two terms up to a six-year maximum.
