"We're very appreciative of everyone who did donate," said Shannon Robinson, the Salvation Army of Oakville's community family and resources coordinator. The Salvation Army's food bank is the main program funded by the kettle campaign, but it also supports the moms and tots camp and children's adventure camp, and the Christmas assistance program. Though the kettle campaign is over, the Salvation Army still accepts donations at its 1225 Rebecca St. location. Robinson said the Salvation Army's toy drive was once again very well supported. With donations from the community, the Salvation Army was able to provide toys to more than 430 families that registered with it. "We're very grateful for the support of the community," she said.
