In a phone interview, McNeil, who plays Agnetha, said "It was exhausting when I started because we do a lot of dance moves." It was only a matter o f time, though, until the Super Trouper lights found McNeil moving like a dancing queen on stages across the country. She continued, "We try to make it sound like the real band would sound and make the experience like it would Photos supplied R andolph Academ y fo r the Perform ing Arts w ith Choreographer Lin da G arneau. They go to great lengths to put on the big show Abba was famous for. The keyboard-based wall of sound the band was known for, coupled with the conta gious melodies in the foreground is duplicated in this show. Abbamania also has an exciting light show, along with singers who look and sing like the original stars o f Abba when they were young. With all the elements in place, the show has become a critical success across Canada. "It's a tribute to the group, but it's got a lot o f theatre elements to it," McNeil said, adding that among the Abba hit songs, the group also performs skits. "I had to do a lot o f research to get her mannerisms and see how she would react." The three act show is on Aug. 13 at 8 p.m. at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts.
