Teams practised techniques for a variety of rescue operations, including those in which an injured person is either in open water or close to the ice edge. Each scenario requires different tools, such as a rope for the victim to clutch, a oating foam apparatus to buoy an injured person around the abdomen or a stretcher bucket to carry the person ashore.
