Justin Gould scored in overtime to give the Blades a 3-2 win over the North London Patriots in the peewee white final. Johnathan Tino and Iliyan Bhanji provided first-period markers for the Blades, but North London tied the contest with two goals in the second period. Gould was named MVP of the final, earning him a composite stick from Corbett's Source for Sports. Bhanji scored twice and Ben Madeley and Tino added singles in the Blades' 4-2 semifinal win over Waterloo Canadian Tire Black. North London edged the Hawks 3-2 in overtime in the other semifinal, when Orin D'Souza and Tommy Gorgenyi tallied for the Hawks. Other members of the Blades are Ryan Sasaki, Anthony Da Silva, Parsa Amin, Anis Singh, Adam Fancy, Nicholas Fabugais-Inaba, Frederick Engmann, Julian De Gennaro, Max Overton, James MacMurray and Sebastian Mella. Mike De Gennaro and David Sasaki coach the Blades, Harpal Singh is the trainer and John Tino is the manager. Atom The Oakville Sabres defeated Nepean Moore 1-0 in a shootout in the atom semifinals, but were defeated 4-0 by Burlington Bulldogs Red in the title game. Lucas Vincze supplied the winning goal in the semifinal for the Sabres. Burlington's Nicholas Giacomin recorded a hat trick in the final and claimed MVP honours. Peewee Red Oakville teams provided three of the four semifinalists in the peewee red division, but the Burlington Bulldogs were the eventual champion. Burlington MVP Logan Young scored in overtime as the Bulldogs downed the Oakville Timberwolves 2-1 in the final. Brodie MacKay supplied the Timberwolves' marker. The Timberwolves got two goals from Marc Anilowski and one each from Sam Armstrong and Duncan Cassidy to blank the Oakville Phantoms in the semifinal round. Burlington overcame a first-period marker by the Oakville Bruins' Ben Haggard to win the other semi, 4-1. This year marked the 14th edition of the annual Frank Sabatino Memorial Tournament, which is dedicated to the former MOHA director and convener who passed away Nov. 15, 2001. During the atom championship game, tournament organizers presented Oakville's Ian Anderson House (an in-resident cancer hospice) and the Oakville Hospital Foundation with a donation of $3,000.
