The Region suspended waste collection Monday for Oakville, Burlington, Halton Hills and Milton due to reduced visibility and hazardous road conditions. Waste collection was postponed one day for the remainder of the week, including regularly scheduled collection for Friday, (Feb. 6), which will take place on Saturday (Feb. 7). Residents in any areas, who did not receive collection on their regularly scheduled day, were asked to remove their Blue Box, GreenCart and garbage material from the curb and place them back at the curb, no later than 7 a.m., the following day for collection, the Region said. There was no change to commercial locations scheduled for today's (Thursday) and tomorrow's (Friday) collection, and the Region said it would maintain BIA collection services on Tuesday and Friday of this week. The sub-adult animal named Hope was rescued by a family that lives four hours north of Fort Frances, Ont., near the border of Manitoba, in mid-December.
