T Registration opens Saturday for spring, summer library programs he end of winter may seem like an eternity away, but there's a sure sign of warmth on the horizon: registration for spring and summer library programs opens Saturday (Feb. 7) at 9 a.m. With new programs for all ages, Oakville Public Library looks forward to another inspiring season for learning. A few highlights of March Break activities include: · Castlemoon Presents, Chester (March 16) -- At this interactive show, kids will make a puppet to help tell the story of Chester, the interrupting cat, based on the books by Melanie Watt (of Scaredy Squirrel fame). Two performances will be held on Monday, March 16, one at Glen Abbey Branch, 1415 Third Line, and one at Iroquois Ridge Branch, 1051 Glenashton Dr. The cost is $7 and the program is best suited for children aged three to seven. · The Great Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt (March 17) -- Parents and children of all ages are invited to drop by any Oakville Public Library branch on St. Patrick's Day for a free, leprechaun-themed scavenger hunt. Once children complete the hunt, they will be entered to win a neat shamrock prize pack (one per branch). · Bert's Comedy Magic Show (March 20) -- Kids will love this hilarious comedy magic show with Bumbling Bert. Bert will amaze his audience with silly, zany, whirlwind jokes and magic. Tickets cost $5 and are available at all branches starting Friday, March 6. · Other March Break activities include: How To Train Your Lemur (featuring a real, live lemur); DIY Leather Bracelets; Minecraft Live!; March Break Movie Madness; and Drop-In and Build with LEGO. For a complete list of spring/summer 2015 programs and events, pick up a program guide at any library branch or access a digital copy at www.opl.ca/guide. -- Submitted by the Oakville Public Library 17 | Friday, February 6, 2015 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com DO YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO EXCEL IN SCHOOL?
