- Georgetown ratepayers fairly evenly divided for and against a new agreement between the Town of Georgetown and Delrex Developments Limited jammed the council chambers Monday night. Charles Hildebrandt presented a petition signed by 10 residents. Mrs. John Cordaro protested any form of agreement; Mrs. H. N. Martyn echoes Mrs.Cordaro's remarks. Mr. Hyde hinted that the suggestion of a tax increase was alarmist propaganda to frighten the taxpayer. Mayor Doug Sargent said "It is the policy of this council...to treat all taxpayers alike".
