A Canadian-U.K. co-production of Nelvana Limited and Hit Entertainment, Mike The Knight was recognized by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in the Kids: Series category. The third annual International Emmy Kids Awards were presented on Feb. 20 in New York City. The show centres on the magical adventures of Mike and his sister Evie who live in the Kingdom of Glendragon and airs in North America on Nick Jr. and Treehouse. Bastien, who graduated from Sheridan's classical animation program in 1983, is one of many of the college's alumni who work at Nelvana, which is part of Toronto-based Corus Entertainment. Bastien began his animation career with Nelvana soon after graduation and his early work includes the animated series Beetlejuice, Babar and Little Bear. Charles (Ted) Bastien sits with his 2015 International Emmy Kids Award for directing the children's animated TV series Mike the Knight.
