www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Friday, March 13, 2015 | 14 Fare Share food drive needs volunteers and donations Oakville's Fare Share food bank is gearing up for its annual Easter food drive and is on the lookout for student volunteers. Local high school students needing to earn some of their required community service hours are asked to call 905-845-8014 in the evenings or weekends after 7:30 p.m. The Easter food drive runs from Saturday, March 21 to Saturday, April 4. Donations may be dropped off at all local fire stations, Oakville grocery stores or directly to the food bank, located at 1240 Speers Rd. This year there is a particular need for baby food, which has Fare Share volunteers concerned. The Easter food drive is also that in which the Speers Road food bank stocks its shelves for the spring and summer months, to get its stores replenished for its Thanksgiving drive. The local food bank says it's concerned about its supplies making it to October. "We are always concerned about making it through until the Thanksgiving food drive, but even more concerned at this time because of the low supply of baby food," said Nancy Bromberg, Fare Share volunteer president.
