Both Bernice and Alex were generous contributors to numerous charities, and formed the Alexander and Bernice De Maio Charitable Foundation, and subsequently turned over the funds to the Community Foundation of Oakville. Ruth's family came to London, Ontario in 1930 where she met her late husband, Ted, raised two daughters, and had many wonderful friends over the 62 years she lived there. Ruth is predeceased by her loving and devoted husband, Ted and their daughter Nancy (Colville).
