Least-informed generation according to another study Come and continued from p.10 on the herb. Oh, and don't get me started on the many studies that advised me to take a baby Aspirin every day to help my heart only to have a new study suggest I may only be helping myself to ulcers and a bleeding brain. Not surprisingly, we start to tune out these studies, or laugh them off, or pick the ones that are in line with what we want to believe -- hey, a glass of wine a day is good for you -- and conveniently ignore all the reports that suggest otherwise. Speaking of studies and information overload: there was another recent study that was overlooked by many scientists, but not by me -- because studies are my bag. This study determined that our offspring, part of a generation that has at its fingertips more information than any previous generation in the history of mankind, is... the leastinformed generation ever. That is, the least-informed when it comes to practical, essential, worldly information. Mind you, if you want to know about, say, Kanye and the Kardashians, this generation can give you an earful. And then some. Yes, knowledge is good. But you can indeed get too much of a good thing. At least, that's what a recent study suggests. -- Andy Juniper can be contacted at ajjuniper@gmail.com, found on Facebook, or followed on Twitter @thesportjesters. 11 | Thursday, March 19, 2015 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com discover my community story. The event was meant to raise funds and awareness for the school's biannual Relay for Life event, which precedes the one organized by the Canadian Cancer Society across the country. Proceeds still go to the Canadian Cancer Society. The CCS Relay for Life is a 12-hour fundraising event that brings participants together to celebrate cancer survivors, remember and honour loved ones who lost their battle with cancer, and fight back against all cancers.
