Oakville leads its best-of-five, second-round playoff series with the Durham West Lightning 2-0 after posting a pair of victories last weekend. The Hornets blanked Durham West 3-0 Friday at Joshua's Creek and downed the Lightning 4-1 Sunday in Ajax. Loren Gabel scored twice in the series opener and added another in Game 2, giving her goals in all five of the Hornets' playoff games this year. A 21-goal scorer during the regular season, Gabel leads the Hornets with six goals and two assists in the playoffs.
