Minor atoms close to OMHA title Depending on their result last night (Thursday), the Oakville minor atom AE Rangers might have a chance to win an Ontario Minor Hockey Association title tomorrow (Saturday) at River Oaks Recreation Centre. The Rangers entered last night's game in Barrie with a 3-1 lead in their first-to-sixpoints final with the Colts. Oakville earned a 4-4 tie and a 3-1 win last weekend in the first two games of the series. Game 4 tomorrow begins at 5:20 p.m. The bantam AA Rangers are tied 2-2 with the Ajax Knights in their final series. Oakville won the series opener 5-3 last Saturday in Ajax, but the Knights evened things up with a 4-1 win Monday at Joshua's Creek Arenas. The series resumes tomorrow in Ajax, and the Rangers will host Game 4 this Monday at Joshua's Creek, beginning at 8:40 p.m. Oakville's other two OMHA finalists, the minor peewee AE and peewee AA Rangers, face early series deficits. The minor peewees trail the Aurora Tigers 4-0 after dropping 2-1 and 4-0 decisions last weekend. The series resumes Saturday at Sixteen Mile (4:35 p.m.). The peewees are down 3-1 to the Richmond Hill Stars, following a 3-3 tie and 4-0 loss. Richmond Hill hosts Game 3 tonight (Friday), and the Rangers will be back home Saturday at Joshua's Creek (7:30 p.m.). 25 | Friday, March 20, 2015 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com C A T H O L I C F I N A L Two Hornets teams, maybe more, in LLFHL finals Two Oakville Hornets teams have advanced to the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League championship weekend, while seven others could end up joining them.
