Predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth in 1996 and sisters Pauline and Florence; dearly loved and missed by daughters Susan (Richardson) Roser (Hugh) and Sandi Richardson (Paul Backwell); grandchildren Jason (Joanne), Julie and Jaimie Roser, Shannon (Cayer) Stevens (Will) and Matthew Cayer (Karissa) and greatgrandsons Zackery Roser, Liam and Danny Stevens; niece Sheila McKinnon and nephew David Brett. Vince was born at Sydney, Cape Breton Island and came to Ontario in the late 1940's, moving to Oakville in 1955. He was involved with the Oakville Minor Hockey Association as a coach between 1963 and 1970. Vince retired from Ontario Hydro in 1987 as the Autobody Fabricator Supervisor at the Kipling location. For several years he arranged monthly luncheons for the Hydro Retirees at the Canadiana Restaurant, at the Six Points Plaza in Mississauga. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the fellas and reminiscing about old times. Vince was a great story teller, had a terrific sense of humour, enjoyed playing the guitar and when he went fishing, his fish was always the biggest, even when it wasn't! The family would like to thank Dr. Joanna Tang, his nurses, Eileen, Asma and Silas; support workers Stephanie, Leslie and Ioulia, and the caring staff at the Ian Anderson House Hospice who made his last days so peaceful. Services were held at the Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home in Oakville, April 15th, 11:00 a.m., with visitation Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ian Anderson House would be greatly appreciated by the family.
