Rea has chosen to support a local agency, ClothingWorks, and would like the community to get involved. In exchange for the donation of gently used women's suits, Tocca Finita is offering a $200 credit that can be used towards the purchase of a new suit at her boutique. "It's really a natural progression - I've been a part of the Oakville community for a long time - it has served me well and I'd like to return the favour and give back any way I can," says Rea. ClothingWorks is a volunteer commu nity based organiza tion dedicated to empowering women through support, information and pro grams. It was designed with the understanding that some women face enormous economic challenges. Since its incep tion two years ago, ClothingWorks has given over 200 women the chance to build a more secure future with the opportunity to pres ent themselves at a job interview or start a new job, in clothing appropriate to the workplace. C lothingW orks has a number of busi nesses who donate their space, clothing and services to help in their plight to help women, they include: Accessory Place, B a r b e t t e , Tocca Finita owner Anna Rea is offering $200 towards the purchase of a new suit in her boutique in exchange for donated suits that will be sent to ClothingWorks, an Oakville agency that helps women in the workforce. Barrington's, Colonial Cleaners, the Maycourt Club of Oakville and Zonta and. now, Tocca Finita. Although the agency works on a dona tion program, steering committee member Gay Drinkwalter says assistance from ClothingWorks "is a hand up, not a hand out". "We've tried not to make it like a chari ty," says Tina Pritchard, another member of the committee. "It's set up like a store and because we're goal-oriented, we do what we have to in order to help these women." Interested individuals can also help through the Rack 'n' Roll program - a jobready clothing drive that accepts clean, well-tailored suits in all sizes, from petite to plus, and accessories for their clients. ClothingWorks accepts cash donations to purchase shoes and other accessories. A tax receipt will be issued for these donations.
