The HDSB has posted a website notice (http://goo.gl/Px3nbE) providing an update to families on the status of negotiations with the board's unionized elementary and secondary teachers. The board and Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO) Halton chapter of cials have met several times with more meeting dates set for May and June. ETFO in Halton represents close to 2,900 teachers, serving almost 40,000 pupils. "...ETFO members will be in a legal position to impose job sanctions on (Sunday)May 10. Job sanctions could include work to rule, rotating strikes or a full strike," says the board's letter to parents. "This does not mean labour action will happen in Halton elementary schools. For more photos, see p.4 or visit www.insidehalton.com. | photo by Graham Paine ­ Oakville Beaver (Follow on Twitter @halton_photog or facebook.com/HaltonPhotog) Two Oakville teenage girls, who went missing April 27, were found in Toronto around 10 p.m. Saturday (May 2) night, according to Halton police Investigators had reported various sightings of the teens -- and various descriptions, as their hair colour kept changing -- the most recent on Friday in the area of King Street West and Strachan Avenue in Toronto. "Both girls were located safe in Toronto earlier this evening. Halton Regional Police would like to thank members of the public for their help and support," Det.-Sgt. Andrew Forde of the Halton police 20 District Criminal Investigations Bureau said Saturday. Forde said the girls were found together by Toronto police and were returned to the custody of their parents. He said they were found in good health and attributed nding them to the extensive media coverage generated. "The coverage that this received from yourselves and the rest of the media outlets was very important in this case. The exposure it got helped a lot," Forde told the Oakville Beaver. "We were happy to have the ending that occurred. It was great to get them back." Forde would not comment on whether the youths are facing any legal consequences in connection with their disappearance.
