Halton Police Chief Stephen Tanner said there are no plans for a centralized place for arrested protesters, but said cells will be available at the central lockup at the Oakville police station as well as at the Milton court. If more cells are needed, Tanner said, arrangements could possibly be made with the Maplehurst Correctional Complex in Milton. Burton also asked about the private security personnel and who they would answer to in the event one of them did something inappropriate. Corey said police control the private security members who do go through an accreditation process. He also said the responsibilities of these private security guards are limited and they cannot arrest people. Tanner noted police would remove any private security member who does something they shouldn't. "They are not untouchable," said Tanner. Corey would not say how much the Pan Am/ Parapan Games will cost Halton police, but noted the Province will reimburse all the costs.
