www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Thursday, June 11, 2015 | 4 Girl, 8, recovering after being impaled in trampoline accident by David Lea Oakville Beaver Staff An eight-year-old Oakville girl is on the mend after being impaled in an accident involving a trampoline at a residence on English Rose Lane Friday afternoon. The girl had been jumping on the trampoline with a friend during the school PA day. She jumped off and landed on a nearby hook for a hanging planter, which partially impaled her, police said. The girl's 14-year-old brother, who was babysitting her, called 911 and his parents. Police and other first responders were called to the area around 12:30 p.m. when members of the Oakville Fire Department and Halton EMS treated the girl before taking her to hospital. Police said the girl sustained nonlife threatening injuries and was taken to McMaster Children's Hospital in Hamilton where she was listed in stable condition.
