But Dynasi has always been known as a "family restaurant," Slav said. "We became friends with many of the staff and they still come back with their families," she said. "Husbands and wives would come here and they'd have children and now their children are coming here with their kids. We have a toy box for kids and they're always running all over the place. People like us because they say it's like eating in their family room. "We know many of our customers by their first names. They know everything about us and we know everything about them. We've also used the dining room for extended family dinners. We have about 40 people. Mom also has 11 grandchildren, including twins." Several former staffers have offered to help work the last day because of the anticipated large crowds expected for breakfast and lunch," Slav We became friends with many of the staff and they still come back with their families. Husbands and wives would come here and they'd have children and now their children are coming here with their kids. We have a toy box for kids and they're always running all over the place. People like us because they say it's like eating in their family room. Dianna Dinevski Dynasi said. Some of the staff worked for 10 years, including one, who has worked part-time for 17 years. "We've actually been very, very busy since we announced we were closing with that sign," Slav said. "We've been thinking about putting another sign up telling people that due to overwhelming response we've decided to remain open. What a marketing ploy... just kidding." Truth be told, customers and friends have been dropping by, saying goodbye, giving their last hugs and signing a guest book. "Our customers have always been like our family. We can't thank them enough for all of the years they've been with us along with our wonderful and loyal staff," Slav said. In her retirement, Milly intends to take computer courses and swimming and exercise courses for seniors. She will spend time at her brother's cottage in Bracebridge and a sister's cottage in Crystal Beach. She also hopes to visit another sister in Australia and have plenty of time with her grandchildren. Many of the produce used in the restaurant over the years has come from Milly's own backyard garden. "Everybody loved her big tomatoes," Dianna said. "She's always made her own sauces and gravies and her homemade soup from scratch," Dianna said. Although the restaurant will remain vacant, the family will hold onto it and the land. They expect one day it will be sold to a developer. All perishable food after Sunday will be given to Food for Life while some equipment is being donated to the Lighthouse Shelter. Restaurant companies are expected to purchase other equipment, tables and chairs. "Some customers want the counter stools that have been here for 40 years," Slav said. "I'm taking the original milkshake-maker. I put dibs on it 15 years ago." WE MAKE CUSTOM FOOT ORTHOTICS! Chiropodist - Foot Specialist Call Today and book your `Complimentary'3D Foot Scan!
