Wednesday, March 7, 2001 THE OAKVILLE BEAVER Enjoy A ` n Intimate Evening with John ; lle'tomorrow The Festival of Classics, Oakville's professional out door Shakespeare theatre company, will launch its New Salon Series with An Intimate Evening with John Neville tomorrow (Thursday) at The Oakville Club, 56 Water St., beginning at 7:30 p.m. The Salon Series is a new addition to the Festival of Classics whose annual outdoor summer theatre productions have garnered exceptional praise for their quality, intimacy and unique lakeside location. The first in a series of evenings celebrating the lives and talents of Canadian theatre artists, An Intimate Evening with John Neville will be hosted by Canadian theatre critic Robert Crew. Members of the audience will be taken on a journey where the career of John Neville will be highlighted. This legendary theatre artist has had starring roles on stages across Canada and London as well as leading roles in many Hollywood films. He will discuss his life in film, television and theatre through personal stories and anecdotes, while Crew punc tuates special moments and turning points in Neville's expansive career. Neville has been artistic director of the Stratford Festi val, the Neptune Theatre and the Citadel Theatre in Cana da as well as of the Fortune Theatre and the Nottingham Theatre in England. His many stage credits include the Broadway productions of Ghosts, St. Joan and Sherlock Holmes and Stratford Festival's Love's Labour's Lost, M er chant o f Venice and Separate Tables. He has numerous film and television credits to his name and has worked will Liv Ullmann, Burt Reynolds and Sir Laurence Olivier, to name just a few. Crew is former theatre critic and current entertainment writer for The Toronto Star. In addition to writing for The Toronto Star , Crew is a freelance theatre writer. A cappella style barbershop harmony at Oakville Centre The Oakville Entertainers will be presenting their annual musical extravaganza at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts on Saturday, March 10 at 2 and 8 p.m. Along with this barbershop chorus, Colonel B arker' s Harmonious Musi cal Fair and Performing Exhibition will feature the Circle of Harmony Sweet Adeline Chorus, renowned busker Craig Douglas, and a number of barbershop quartets including the Ontario Quartet Champions, B ob's Your Uncle.
