Oakville Galleries opens summer exhibit Oakville Galleries is opening its summer exhibit Sunday (June 21) featuring the recent works of more than 30 Canadian artists. Out of Line features a broad array of styles and methods -- from figurative works on paper to abstract sculptural pieces. "The artworks assembled in the exhibition assess the impressively diverse and ambitious ways in which drawing practices are taking shape at the present moment across the country," stated a media release. "With approaches both intimate and grand, traditional and novel, political and autobiographical, these works demonstrate drawing's remarkable capacity to depict contemporary life." The opening to the exhibition runs from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Oakville Galleries at Centennial Square, 120 Navy St., followed by a reception at the gallery's Gairloch Gardens location, 1306 Lakeshore Rd. E., from 3:30-5 p.m. The works will stay on display until Sept. 5.
