Arrest in connection to north Oakville break-ins by David Lea Oakville Beaver Staff 5 | Friday, June 26, 2015 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com A 20-year-old Hamilton man is facing multiple charges in connection with a series of residential break-ins, which occurred in Palermo and Glen Abbey earlier this month. On Sunday, June 14, residents reported seven break-ins or attempted break-ins. Seventeen additional break-ins or attempted break-ins were reported in these areas of north Oakville early on Thursday, June 18. Homes were entered via unlocked rear patio doors and rear and side windows. In some cases, screens were cut, police said. Once inside the intruder(s) stole anything of value that was in the immediate vicinity and could be easily transported including cash, laptops, and televisions. On one occasion keys were taken from inside a home and used to steal a vehicle parked in the driveway. Halton police launched an investigation and on Monday (June 22) members of the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau made an arrest. Quincy Owen Francis, 20, of Hamilton faces charges including: four counts of break and enter, 13 counts of attempted break and enter and two counts of breaching probation. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
