Photos by Barrie Erskine OMHA aspirations fall one step short The O akville R angers atom AA rep team saw their aspira tions of playing in the Ontario M inor Hockey Association (OMHA) tournament of champions fall ju st one step short as they were eliminated by Burlington in their semifinal series. A close series, Burlington went into the fifth game needing only a tie, and that's exactly what they earned, 3-3, in overtime. With the win, Burlington won the six-point series, 6-4 (with a record o f two wins, one loss and two ties). In OMHA playdowns Oakville had received a first round bye after finishing the regular season in first place with a 25-1-2 record. In the preliminary round, Oakville swept Flamborough in three games (as previously recounted in the Beaver). And then, in the OM HA quarterfinals, swept Caledon in three games -- 7-1, 4-2 and 4-0.
