- Description
- Norine Smith worked in the little tea room in the general store at Palermo from about 1934 to 1937. The restaurant manager at the time was Mrs. Seckman, and Ethel Wood ran the general store. The store was on the north east corner of the intersection at Dundas Street and Bronte Rd., (now Old Bronte Rd.)
Norine lived with her parents, Harvey and Ethel Smith in the house facing Dundas Street on the east side of Palermo United Church. At the time, it was a frame house, but years later it burned and was rebuilt with brick, as it is today.
Norine and Ivan Neal Fox married on June 5, 1937. - Notes
- It could be thought from the post mark that it was dated 1950 but Norine's surname was Smith after her marriage in 1937. So, the year is uncertain but the artistic style is circa the 1930's. E. Weaver, the artist, specialized in comic post cards.
