The gold medal game kicks off at 11:50 a.m. and is pre ceded by the bronze medal game at 9:20 a.m. Both games are at the River Oaks Rec Centre which has hosted the entire tournament, save for one early preliminary round game (at Glen Abbey). As defending OMHA champions, the Oakville Rangers are again gunning for the gold medal and would love noth ing better than to earn the right to host the OMHA champi onship playdowns again next year, in their major bantam year, which is their draft year. The Rangers opened up their drive back on Friday morn ing with a 7-4 win over St. Catharines. Oakville goals were scored by Nick Dodge (2), Charlie Giffin (2), Victor Oreskovich, Nick Davis and Ben Heersink. Single assists went to all the above noted goal scorers as well as Tyler Donati, Daniel Hannigan-Daley, Andy MacDonald, Brad McKenzie and Nick Prescott. Oakville broke open a 4-4 tie with three unanswered goals. Until that point, however, it was touch and go with Oakville down 2-1 and then unable to hold a 4-2 lead. But then, facing their second game in a matter of hours, the Rangers lost 4-1 to Richmond Hill Stars who were play ing their opening game. Daniel Hannigan-Daley scored the lone Oakville goal, assisted by Nick Dodge and Brad McKenzie. Oakville fell behind 2-0 before getting their lone goal. A five team tournament, Oakville was slated to continue preliminary round action on Saturday at River Oaks, against Markham at 9 a.m. and Niagara Falls at 4 p.m. Sunday's medal round featured the top two teams clash ing for the gold medal and the third and fourth placed teams clashing for the bronze medal (at the above noted times). Imrictas football tryouts Invictas football registration and tryouts will be held this com ing week at St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School.
