Titled Letters from Generation Rx, the lm was written and directed by international award-winning lmmaker Kevin P . Miller. The documentary is a sequel of sorts in that it was created following the success of Miller's 2008 documentary Generation Rx, which focused on the harms of over-prescribing psychiatric drugs for children. Rx refers to the symbol for medical prescription. "Following the making of that lm I received more than 2,000 letters from people. From teens, from parents, from teachers, from people of all walks of life who shared their experiences and their stories of life on psychotropic drugs," said Miller. see Film on p.4 Community partners Halton Community Housing Corporation, Halton Regional Police Service, and the YMCA of Oakville recently hosted an informal community social at Margaret and Maurice community housing. That's why the Y has partnered with Halton Community Housing Corporation (HCHC) and Halton Regional Police to host informal community socials in several Oakville neighbourhoods. The events are an opportunity for the local organizations to get to know residents, inform them about free community programs coming to their neighbourhood and to help them connect with other families living in their area. The nal community social for 2015 was held on Tuesday for residents of Maurice and Katherine Dziedzic Margaret drives. The gatherings, which offer free food and drinks, have been hosted on Brays Lane, Sheridan Garden Drive, Golden Briar Trail and Elm Road/Sixth Line, among others, in June and July. see Agencies on p.3 LASIK Eye Surgery starting from $999/eye* $500 off any Bilateral BladeLESS Laser Vision Correction Procedure C O M P L I M E N TA R Y C O N S U LTAT I O N & F O L LOW- U P V I S I T S or 905 845 EYES (3937) SEEBYIV.COM *Subject to terms and conditions
