Young-at-heart volunteer needed Each year the Oakville Waterfront Festival, along with the Red Cross and Oakville Transit, visits all the Grade 2 classes in Oakville. They set out the last week of May and first week of June aboard the Community Bus to bring news on Bus Safety and Water Safety and how important they are to help make your Festival experience a fun one! The Grade 2 students not only get a high energy presenta tion filled with useful informa tion but they get a goody bag to take home. The goody bag is filled with a Festival admission W a te riin e s The Council of the Regional Municipality of Halton invites you to join the Development Charges Advisory Committee for a three year term. There are presendy 2 vacant ratepayer representation positions to be filled. These appointments give Halton residents a chance to volunteer their skills to help run Halton Region. Regional Council wishes to ensure that this committee reflects the diverse nature of its community and invites all residents of Halton to consider this opportunity. The purpose of the Development Charges Advisory Committee is to review the methodology and assumptions used in formulating Haltons development charges policy, provide critical analysis and policy advise regarding Haltons development charges policy and to provide input on recommendations dealing with any proposed development charges by-laws or amendments. The Committee's first order of business will be a review of the non-residential development charge policy. A minimum of one meeting per month (2-3 hrs) will be held during regular business hours at Halton Region Centre. Additional hours may be required for sub-committee involvement and/or technical review. For more information call Mark Scinocca, Manager of Development Financing, ext. 7043. The Interview Committee will recommend qualified candidates for these 2 positions to Regional Council.
