O ntario Ball Hockey Association Ferrone back in fold (Continued from page 32) But a month later, the chance to join forces with his old teammates, albeit on the sidelines, proved irresistible. "It's with people that I have a lot of respect for -- Pinball, Masotti," said Ferrone. As past president of the players' association and as a former longtime veteran, he said, "I understand the importance of the Argonauts and the Argonauts being successful, and I almost had a sense of duty to go and do whatever I can to make the Argonauts better on the field but most of all off the field to be successful." The timing was also right for Ferrone who took a first stab at politics last year, running for the Alliance party in Oakville. "I said, look, I want to help, I want to be a part of it, I have the opportunity right now, (in) the business cycle. "I amalgamated the venture fund that I was president and CEO of called SportFund. And the election only comes once every four years, and that's Still a big priority for me, so there is a little window of opportunity, here, for a year, to help an organization that I have a lot of feelings for -- my alma mater." And while the lack of both profes sional coaching experience (or profes sional coaching aspirations, for that matter) could probably be singled out as the weak link in terms of what he brings to the table, Ferrone thinks it will work out just fine. After all, he has always remained in the game in some capacity. And he does know a thing or two about the offensive line. "I know the offensive line, played offensive line all my life," he said. "When I was playing, I was coaching. That was an aspect that I did. I am a study of the game -- strategy, tech nique. I think I can coach." What, with Mario making his come back and now the Jordan rumours reaching a crescendo, maybe these Argo greats will be tempted to get back into the fray. "Only to yell at a ref," said Ferrone, laughing. "I enjoyed my time playing. But I've enjoyed my time not playing even more. "There's no question about it, my body has paid a nice price for my expe riences in foptball." 1 2 0 S p e e r s R d ., O a k v i l l e 845- t-KEE S TU FF fo r J S# 2 0 0 t h r u the d oor on S at., M a r. 2 4 th 9 a m I I 3pff., S n o w b o a rd D e p t, e a r D e p t., B o a rd w e a r Dept. iiRter Stock Item s!!!
