Oakville writer, illustrator launches second bilingual children's book Oakville mom and writer/illustrator Jessica Carrasco recently launched her second book for children, titled, The Child That I Am / La Niña Que Soy, at the Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre. The bilingual book (written in English and Spanish) discusses the importance of parents involving their children in their daily activities with "love, patience and respect," according to the author. Carrasco's first book was Colourful Children / Niños de Colores. Carrasco was born in a small neighbourhood in Santiago, Chile and moved to Canada with her husband Mario in 2005. The couple has a daughter Pamela, whom Carrasco credits with her decision to become a writer of children's books.
