McLAUGHLIN, Margaret Mary (nee Robertson) After a brief illness, passed away on August 12, 2015 at the Waterford LTC in Oakville, ON. Born April 2, 1920 in Ayr, Scotland. Predeceased by her husband of 55 years, John, and her siblings George, Mary, Henry, Catherine, Annie and Roddy. Served in the RAF during World War II and after coming to Canada with her young family worked for many years at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Long time Guide leader with the Girl Guides of Canada. Margaret also spent many years as a volunteer for the Red Cross Oakville Branch. Margaret was generous in providing a home away from home for family and friends immigrating to Canada and starting new lives. Margaret will be loved and missed by her children: Maureen, Paul (Juliana), Theresa, and Elaine, and her grandchildren: Michael, Molly, and Sydney. Margaret will also be missed by her extended family here and abroad. The family would like to thank Dr. Whitmore and the staff at the Waterford Long Term Care for their compassionate care and support. A special hug to Dianna whose tender love and care meant so much to Margaret and her family. Cremation has taken place and will be followed by a private service for family and friends. Phil is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Robin (Brister), his adored and adoring children; Timothy, Robert and Alexandra. Phil leaves behind his parents, Dominic and Mary, his sister Tina (Corrado), brother Thomas (Heather) and sister Laura (Jamie), sister-in-law Kim (Robert), motherin-law Margot and several nieces and nephews. Beloved husband of Judith for 37 years, he is also survived by his daughters Christine and Stephanie (Matt Taylor). He is lovingly remembered by his twin grandchildren Hunter and Scarlett. He is also survived by his siblings Carmen (Caroline), Dennis (Sharon), Ellen, Joyce (Colin), Carol (Clayton), Jackie (Ron), Jennette (Doug) and Ken (Linda). Born in Carman, Manitoba, he graduated from Queen's Engineering and spent his entire career in the chemical industry. Employed at DuPont, BASF and Nylene Canada, his business travel took him to the US, South America, Germany and Asia. But he was most content with his morning coffee on the cottage dock or playing golf with friends. He was very proud of both daughters' accomplishments and their independence. He adored his two year old twin grandchildren and took pleasure visiting them in Calgary or "face timing" with them. His buddy Sarge will miss sitting with him to read the morning paper. As per Ron's wishes, cremation will take place with no funeral services. A celebration of life will take place at the Holiday Inn, 590 Argus Road, Oakville, August 22nd 1 - 4 p.m., and casual dress is requested. Peter Nichols passed away on August 15, 2015 at the age of 84. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Jean Marie (Creamer) Nichols; his three children Sharon, Michael and Linda; and his brother, Paul. Papa will be missed by his Grandsons Nicholas, Matthew and Mark; his sons-in-law Wayne and Darko; and his daughter-in-law Wendy. Peter loved the arts whether it was playing the guitar, harmonica, singing, painting or writing. He was a reader, author and artist. Pete moved from Bristol, England, at the age of 27 to travel Canada and met Jean in St. John, New Brunswick. He moved back to England after he married and stayed for 10 years, before immigrating to Canada in 1964.
