Aug. 13, at which point the police made attempts to contact the couple. Police canvassed the neighbourhood Thursday night to see if residents had seen the couple or knew if they had gone away. The couple was found dead Friday at about 10 a.m., after police broke the window on the front door to gain entry. "We reasonably believe that Wayne Constable is responsible (for the death of Lori Constable), however, the coroner must make a determination in the cause of his death," said Det. Sgt. Joe Stewart of the homicide unit. The couple had been married less than two years and lived in the home where their bodies were discovered for about three years, said Stewart. The home is near Rockcliffe Gardens Park, just north of Dundas Street East (Highway 5). Anything I would say right now would be pure speculation. An open investigation Wayne's death remains an "open and ongoing investigation with no firm conclusions as to cause and manner of death at this point," said regional coroner Dr. Jack Stanborough. Neighbours in the residential neighbourhood have described the cou- ple as quiet, but friendly. The couple's two dogs, Winston and Colin, were found unharmed in the home. Rob Black, a next-door neighbour of the Constables, said he only knew the couple in passing, but that he was surprised because they looked happy and were never seen in conflict with each other. Black said was not aware of any health conditions concerning them. Pure speculation When asked if he had any idea what sparked the tragedy, he said only: "Anything I would say right now would be pure speculation."
