The 10th annual Oakville Mutt Strutt and Fall Fair, with partners Pets Plus Us: Pets Insurance, is set for Cornwall Road Park, 425 Cornwall Rd. It includes a pledged `strut' through Oakville and a shorter stroll through the park for old dogs. The event, running from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., will include dog agility demonstrations, a Kids' Zone with face painting and games, vendor marketplace, and a silent auction. "OMHS is a refuge for animals with nowhere else to turn, helping to rescue, care for, reunite and rehome them. To do this, OMHS relies on the support of the community," stated a media release. Halton police are investigating following a suspicious boat fire, which took place at a home on Bronte Road early last Thursday morning. Firefighters were called to the residence at around 5:45 a.m., where they discovered a boat on a trailer parked in the driveway completely engulfed in flames. The blaze was quickly extinguished, however, the boat was destroyed. The boat was valued at about $8,000. The cause of the fire is unknown, however, it is considered suspicious. Halton police are currently looking for a woman seen near the boat before the fire. She is described as 5-foot-7 with an average build and dark hair. She was wearing red shorts.
