Halton police say they field numerous traffic complaints throughout the region and the district response teams in each municipality make every effort to follow up on these complaints and deal with the problems. In an effort to create greater efficiency, police announced Tuesday traffic complaints could now be reported online. Police say a traffic complaint submitted online should be a concern that is reoccurring at a specific location within Halton. Required information includes what the traffic infraction is, the time of day it occurs, how often it occurs and any observations made of the driving behaviour. Officers note reporting a traffic complaint is different from reporting a driving complaint. A complaint about one driver's behaviour is vehicle-specific and can be reported to the online ROADWATCH program at haltonpolice.ca/PRC/Pages/ ROADWATCH.aspx. Traffic complaints, which can be reported online providing there is a reoccurring location, include: · Stop sign or red light violations; · Speeding; · Aggressive driving; · Unsafe passing; · Careless/dangerous driving; · Failing to yield to pedestrians; · Failing to yield to a school crossing guard; · Community safety zone violations; · School bus violations.
