Julia Novakovic also selected for Team Canada World Dance Championships Oakville's Julia Novakovic, 13, recently travelled to Orlando, Fla., to compete in the National Finals for Candance North America where she placed second runner-up. Julia, representing Oakville's The Dance Exchange, is a twotime runner-up competing in the Junior Miss Candance category, placing second runner-up this year and fourth runner-up last year. The young teen competed against 44 other dancers in her age category from across Canada and the U.S. The national competition ran from June 29-July 5. Julia has been dancing at the Oakville studio since she was three years old in jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical and contemporary dance. She will also be representing Team Canada Dance in Germany in November for the International Dance Organization's World Show Dance Championships.
