www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Thursday, September 17, 2015 | 50 Volunteers needed to sell pink ribbons for Breast Cancer Awareness Month The Canadian Cancer Society Halton branch is looking to recruit volunteers in Oakville to help out with the organization's upcoming Pink Ribbon Campaign. Volunteers are needed to sell pink ribbons at select locations for a few hours approaching and during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Volunteers are needed between Sept. 2426 and Oct. 1-3. "Chances are that someone in your life has or will be diagnosed with breast cancer. It is the most common cancer and the secondleading cause of cancer deaths in women in Canada," stated a media release. "When loved ones are diagnosed with or die from breast cancer, we want to do something to help or honour them. The Canadian Cancer Society wants people in Halton to know that there is something they can do." Money raised during Breast Cancer Awareness Month helps the Canadian Cancer Society educate women about breast screening, fund life-saving research and provide support services for those living with the disease. "Thanks to continued advances in research, much of it funded by the Canadian Cancer Society, the death rate from breast cancer has fallen 44 per cent since the 1980s," according to the release. Those interested in signing up to sell pink ribbons can register at www.myccsschedule. ca or by contacting the Halton office by phone at 905-845-5231 or by email at smcdonald@ontario.cancer.ca Health "Connected to your Community" DIAMOND Fabio De Rango Pharmacist/Owner Voted Oakville's Favourite Pharmacist & Pharmacy · Patient Counselling · Complete Diabetic Care · Home Visits · Consultations · Free RX Delivery DE RANGO PHARMACY INC 478 Dundas Street West | 905-257-9737 Canada Post Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?
