Mudmoiselle coming to Halton Sept. 26 It's time to get muddy while helping fund cancer research. Women are invited to participate in the Canadian Cancer Society's charity mud run Mudmoiselle coming to Halton Saturday, Sept. 26. The fundraiser features a five-kilometre obstacle course winding through hill and terrain at six venues across the province, including Halton's Kelso Conservation Area, 5234 Kelso Rd., in Milton. The event runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Money raised through Mudmoiselle will fund Canadian cancer research and support services for patients and their families. "Two in five Canadians will develop cancer in their lifetime. While survival rates have increased over the years, more work needs to be done," Tonya Stewart, director of special events at the Canadian Cancer Society in Ontario, said in a media release. "Mudmoiselle gives women the opportunity to get dirty and fight this terrible disease." The challenge is open to women of all fitness levels, whether they run marathons or after their kids. "Through Mudmoiselle, women can test their endurance and strength all while supporting Canadians with cancer," said Stewart. "This will be a rewarding experience for girlfriends, mothers and daughters to team up and get dirty for a good cause."
