The Town's Administrative Services Committee voted Monday to change local bylaws to prevent pet shops from getting animals from any source other than those dealing in rescued animals. Jim Barry, manager of bylaw services with the Town, told the committee the proposed changes are aimed at keeping animals produced in so-called puppy mills out of local pet shops. "We had a lot of support from the pet stores. They don't do that (get their animals from puppy mills)," said Barry.
