Celebrating Victoria Day with community fireworks River Oaks Com m unity Church in O akville is invit ing the com m unity to com e and set off firew orks at the church property on Victoria Day (M onday, M ay 21). This is the sixth year for this Com m unity Firew orks Display, w hich encourages everyone to get involved and fosters great com m unity spirit. Everyone is w elcom e to com e and w atch the fire w orks, but the success o f the event depends on people from the com m unity bringing their ow n firew orks and sparklers. A sm all display o f firew orks will be provided by the church, but firew orks that are donated add to the show. D onated firew orks are to be handed to the volun teer from R iver Oaks Com m unity Church and they will ensure that they are set off in a safe manner. Bring a lawn chair, com e early, m eet your neighbours and it w ould probably be wise to walk to the church lot if you are able. River Oaks Com m unity C hurch is locat ed at the com er o f M unn's Avenue East and Sixth Line (betw een U pper M iddle Road and Dundas Street -- just north o f the River Oaks Recreation Centre). Be careful to observe all signs w ith regards to parking. The display will start at approxim ately 9:45 p.m. and will run as long as there are firew orks to set off -- rain or shine.
