Pre-deceased by his parents William and Laura McLeod of Calgary and his brother Stirling. Extended family includes Carol Guest, Lise McLeod and Janice Arthur. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. Lloyd was born in Calgary, Alberta, and educated there and at the University of Alberta (BSc and MSc) and McGill (PhD). He worked at the National Research Council in Chalk River and in Ottawa and at Polymer Corp. in Sarnia where he became Manager of the Research and Development. During this period, he was pleased to be designated Fellow of the Chemical Institute of Canada and a member of the 25 Year Club of the Rubber Division, American Chemical Society. In 1971, Lloyd resigned to become Research Director in the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities and retired as Supervisor, Contractual Research in the Ministry of Education. Throughout his career, Lloyd enjoyed golf, curling, gardening, reading, and travel, coupled with volunteer work with organizations including Bloor St. United Church, Maple Grove United Church, Halton Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Charles H. Best Foundation on which he served as President for 4 years, the Probus Club of Oakville,"and the senior curlers of the Oakville Curling Club. Lloyd's passions extended to photography, wine and bread making, geneology and classical music. He will be missed for his quick wit, his inclusive ways and his extraordinary capacity to love.
