The teachers, members of the Halton chap- ter of the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO), walked on Guelph Line in Burlington, and along a small stretch of nearby Upper Middle Road, just outside the main administrative of ce of their employer, the Halton District School Board (HDSB). Between 4-6 p.m., the teachers, some carrying babies in harnesses or with their pet dog in tow, carried red and white placards that read, `I am the Face of my Union'. ETFO is the only main teaching group in Ontario without a new contract following recent rati cations of separate deals by the Province with the unions representing public high schools, Catholic elementary and secsee Procedures on p.4 Halton Region has two new deputy police chiefs. Oakville Mayor and Halton Regional Police Services Board Chair Rob Burton made the of cial announcement on Monday (Sept. 28). Supt. Carol Crowe, the current commander of No. 2 District (Oakville station), and Supt. Nishan Duraiappah, who is in charge of the services' Of ce of Continuous Improvement Carol Crowe and Strategic Management out of headquarters, were named the two new deputy chiefs at a special meeting Sept. 25. The pair will replace deputy chiefs Bob Percy and Andrew Fletcher. Fletcher joined the South Simcoe Police Service in June as a deputy chief.
