Power outage affected 10,000 north-central residents Monday by David Lea Oakville Beaver Staff 11 | Thursday, October 8, 2015 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com Approximately 10,000 Oakville Hydro customers were affected by a power outage in north central Oakville Monday morning. The outage, which for many lasted around 90 minutes, impacted residents and businesses in an area bounded by Proudfoot Trail in the west, Upper Middle Road to the south, Eighth Line to the east and Burnhamthorpe Road to the north. The outage began around 11 a.m. Oakville Hydro spokesperson Mary Caputi confirmed Oakville Hydro and Hydro One were investigating the cause. The outage also impacted sections of Burling- ton and Milton. Caputi confirmed Hydro One was performing maintenance work on a transformer in Palermo, in the vicinity of Dundas Street and Bronte Road, but would not confirm it was the cause. "We have to make sure it wasn't anything in our systems," she said. "We have to do our due diligence."
