A group of senior broadcast journalism students hosted the debate in advance of the Oct. 19 federal election. Candidates from the Oakville, Mississauga Centre and Brampton ridings were invited -- areas in which Sheridan has campuses -- but many declined or were unable to attend, including Oakville incumbent Conservative candidate Terence Young and Liberal candidate John Oliver -- both of whom had prior engagements.
