Cremation, no service and no notifications were requested. We will call this a tribute, to a man of older values and manners like opening a door, pulling a chair out and family dinners spent together, generous in nature, with a quirky sense of humour. David born February 5, 1930 in Toronto, was the youngest of five and the father of five. Predeceased by his mother (Dorothy May), father (Thomas Wharton), his siblings as known by Tommy, Pat, Bob and Barbara, mother of his children Ellen and son Tony. He will be greatly missed by his surviving children Pat Adolph (the late Jorge), Robin Lacroix (Michael), Kevin Lee (Sue), Brian Lee; his special lady Sylvia, and his many relatives and friends. David became a Flight Lieutenant and Navigator with the R.C.A.F., that took him to places like the North Pole (where he played football with a frozen loaf of bread). He had a career of over 30 years in various positions with Air Traffic Control. Majority of his growing years and family years were in Oakville. An athlete in youth and as an adult, he carried this over to coaching football, baseball, hockey, and track and field, being founder of the Oakville Kiwanis Track and Field Club. And always the loyal Jays and Leafs fan. Upon retirement he took up his dream of thoroughbred horses and racing for a few years. Animals were a huge heart in his life, like racing pigeons, cats and so many dogs rescued and loved. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Thanks for all your love and caring Dad. We will meet again. NIXON LESLIE, Joan Joan Elizabeth Nixon Leslie (nee McAllister) passed away peacefully in her 84th year on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
