Approximately 130 members, Irish or those wishn' they were, attended the St. Patrick's Luncheon on Tuesday, March 14. Lunch was prepared by Eleanor Murphy and Ann Flaherty and their kitchen team. Entertainment by the Band was cancelled due to illness among the band members. One of the healthy ones, Steve Melville, entertained us with his classic guitar. Thanks Steve. Lack of interest in the fundraising roast beef dinner that was set for March 25 has forced the cancellation of this event. I guess the novelty has worn off. Fundraisers are an essential part of keeping the Centre open. If you have any ideas for a major fundraiser, I'm sure the Board would like to hear about them. Put on your "thinking caps" and see if we can come up with some ingenious plans. I have been asked several times in the last couple of weeks if the "All you can eat" Pancake Breakfast is on. I am happy to report that it is a go for April 22. There will be more details in the new "Hilltops" coming out soon. A reminder to all Euchre players that the first and second Tuesday evening is "Euchre Night" at the Centre. The public is invited to come out for an evening of cards. Before I get my head in a noose I had better tell you the Bid Euchre is played on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, again open to the public. Grant, "The Travel Man", says there are still some seats left for the Lawrence Welk Show in Brantford for March 29, and for the "Irish Rovers" on April 6. If you would like to visit a sugar bush then be ready to get on the bus on Wednesday, April 12 to travel to the Sandy Flats Sugar Bush Farm in the Northumberland Hills (very little walking). For $54 you get a deluxe motor coach ride, horse drawn ride through bush, all you can eat pancake luncheon (real maple syrup), stop at Glover's Farm Market. See Grant if you are interested. Looking ahead, I hope you have signed up for the Stratford Festival Theatre to see Oliver on Wednesday, May 17. I know that sounds like a long way ahead but these Stratford trips fill up quickly. Don't be left waving goodbye to the bus. Come out to the Georgetown Seniors Centre. Get involved! Make new friends! Share in the good times!

The 2005 crop was the shortest in recent memory and the price has increased drastically in the past year on
