Sophie Lyttle, 8, learns about hazardous waste in a demonstration at Riverfest in Norval Sunday afternoon. According to organizer Carolyn Martin the festival "went well" but attendance "wasn't as good as we hoped for." The festival, which made a return this year after a year's hiatus, will likely be held next year, said Martin.

Samantha Boone, 3, checks out a Leopard Frog at the display put on by the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre at Riverfest in Norval Sunday afternoon.

Naturalist Jack Imhof (right) examines what he scooped out of the Credit River to see if there are any creatures to use in his discussion on river critters at Riverfest in Norval Sunday afternoon. Luckily he found a crayfish (below).

Adrian Philpot, a Wye Marsh naturalist, holds up a snapping turtle in his presentation to parents and children at Riverfest in Norval Sunday afternoon. Cole Jansen, 3, was one of the kids who opted to take a closer look.
